Courage always comes with a cost.
For the month of June we’re exploring what courage costs all of us and how courage helps us reclaim our voice for our God-given assignment.
One of the things I pray is reclaimed from our anger and outrage around history continuing to repeat itself is our heart for advocacy.
I was joined by my sister, Khalilah Elliott, a multicultural marketing and communications expert, to talk about how we reclaim our voice for advocacy.
Advocacy comes in many forms and that's what Khalilah and I will be talking about.
In this episode we discuss...
▪️Why advocacy matters
▪️Why our silence and inaction is detrimental to us all
▪️How to think critically about issues of social justice
▪️How to address our own anger and resentment in a way that’s not counterproductive
▪️Methods for how we “stop” the madness
No more being silent about the things that matter most to us because we fear what others think.
"If people are ready to leave you, because you find your voice and you're ready to speak up for yourself, let them go!" - Khalilah Elliott
"If you're an advocate, your role, even when it is uncomfortable is to acknowledge when something is problematic for the people you claim you advocate for. It doesn't stop when it stops being a topic of discussion." - Khalilah Elliott
You don't need more advice.
You need space in your life to do what you already know.
